The Guiding Light

Producing an album often seems like driving a car from the back seat. Theoretically, if you know where you want to go and are able to communicate clearly, and if you have a good driver, you can observe and enjoy the journey.

In practice, things are more unpredictable. There are times when you don’t know how to explain the sound you have imagined or, when you do get what you asked for, you unexpectedly have an idea with a different twist. In the end, the music takes over with its creative mishaps and lucky accidents. In all of them, the only guiding light are your ears and your gut instinct. And that’s quite enough.
