Reflections on Art and Life
I am presently composing a concerto in three movements for harpsichord and string orchestra (4,4,4,2,1 or larger). The total length of the music will be approximately fifteen minutes. I hope to complete the work in the summer of 2018.
Inspired by such great predecessors as Manuel de Falla, Bohuslav Martinu, Frank Martin, Francis Poulenc, and Henryk Górecki, I want to continue in their tradition but speaking with my unique voice.
I am not writing the concerto for any one particular performer, but out of my own interest in the instrument. I have felt compelled by its intriguing sound and relative lack of modern literature.
If you are a harpsichord soloist interested in performing the concerto, please contact me to find out more.
