Reflections on Art and Life

The Value of Art

“The Art of Forgery”, an article written by Simon Bonneau which appeared in Sungrammata,  touches on several important ideas, one of which is the fact that people don’t buy the art. They buy its provenance. The essence or the quality is not as important as the background and origin. It is the same in music and other disciplines. I am not defending the forger. Nevertheless, his “work” makes us face this truth.
