Composing a String Quartet – Behind the Scenes Look

This is a fragment of a MIDI print from my new string quartet. The scattered rectangles represent the notes and the vertical lines their velocities. Blue = violin 1, red = violin 2, green = viola, and purple = cello.

Looks good! When will be able to listen to it?

It will be premiered on March 10 in New York. If I get a good recording of it, I will post it. Otherwise, I’m hoping to record it in the studio this summer for my upcoming album.
