Reflections on Art and Life

Anemone from Lacrimosa with Choreography by Ann Dunn

Enjoy Anemone, the closing track from my album Lacrimosa, here in the interpretation of choreographer Ann Dunn of the Asheville Ballet.

The video features a live performance at the Diana Wortham Theatre in Asheville, NC on September 28 as a part of “Bucky”, a four movement ballet based on principles of Buckminster Fuller’s work. The beautiful dancers are Caroline Unks and Lyle Laney.

What a great ballet performance. I live in the region near Asheville, and often hang out there. I wish I would have known about this performance. I would have liked to see it. Post modern dance and ballet are my favorite forms of dance. When I lived in Philadelphia, I often went to New York and subscribed to the Next Wave Festival at the Brooklyn Academy of Music. Pina Bausch is my all time favorite choregrapher. The combination of your music and the dance is so powerful and romantic. Great work Dosia.

Thank you for stopping by and for commenting Walter. In my opinion the combination of music and dance is the most powerful artistic medium there is.
