Why couldn’t life be
A multiple choice test?
That way you could get it right
Most of the time
If you had
The faintest idea
And a sense of direction
But alas
They want you
To write an essay
A novel even
Introduction is easy
It writes itself
But then the plot takes
An unexpected turn
If you are dramatic
It could become an opera
But if you lack substance
It will be soap
Bubbles everywhere
If you lack passion
You could write a manual
Or an encyclopedia
Nothing wrong with that
The alphabet is reliable
There are no surprises
No disappointments
And no clean up to deal with
Plus you know everything
I miss the days
Of handwritten letters
No one curves the whys
The way you do
Every day flows
Out of your fountain pen
Gracefully
Thoughtfully
Sincerely
Yours

Dosia,
This poem is beautiful and insightful. I quite enjoyed it as well as all your art here. You have many wonderous talents.
Miss D
I love (and agree with) the last stanza. It is true that writing has lost the personal. The upside, for me at least, is people can actually read what I write this way. Not gonna say at this point that is a good thing.
Also, liking very much the compositions.
